WASHINGTON, December 4, 2020 — D.C. Hunger Solutions (DCHS) congratulates our newly elected officials and urges the Biden Administration, Congress, and the D.C. Council to make ending hunger a political priority – as America cannot move forward without addressing the root causes of hunger.
This election brought with it record early voting because D.C. residents know how much is at stake moving forward. Together we must confront many challenges, including a public health crisis, economic fallout from COVID-19, and a hunger crisis that has only been exacerbated by the pandemic. We at DCHS look forward to working closely with our elected officials on the issues of food insecurity and poverty in the District, and we are grateful during this season of thanks for a system that honors our voters and the ballots they cast.
We are excited to work with partner organizations and political leaders we know will hold themselves and each other accountable and make ending hunger a greater local and national priority.
