The D.C. Hunger Solutions story bank allows District residents to share their personal experiences about the negative consequences of food insecurity, and the the stories of dedicated community organizations striving to serve them.
We maintain a database that documents these personal stories. Stories about the experiences of families help make complex policy issues understandable to the broader public. Reporters and policy makers find the stories useful to better illustrate the everyday struggles that families face concerning their attempt to keep food on the table.
We obtain permission from each family before releasing a story.
Do you have a story to share about a family or a dedicated service provider who witnesses the damaging consequences of children and families who go hungry? If you would like to share your story, please call 202-986-2200 ext. 3023 or fill out the form below. Your story can make a difference!
